On May 11, an excursion to the Sumgayit History Museum was organized by the department of literature of Azerbaijan and foreign countries of the Philology faculty of Sumgayit State University in order to spend the free time of the students effectively.

Visitors first visited the exhibition halls of the museum and got acquainted with the exhibits here. The employee of the museum gave the young people detailed information about the history of the museum and its exposition.

Ilaha Valiyeva, Ph.D. in philology, gave information to the students, said that the best and most convenient way to learn about the past is to go to museums. The Sumgait History Museum is a place that reflects the history of our city as well as Azerbaijan as a whole - its past and culture. Here also, historical and household items that were "displaced" from the Museum of History-ethnography of Najafi village, Gafan region of Western Azerbaijan, have been displayed in the exhibition hall of the museum under the name "Bir elin harayi" for many years. The collection includes up to 60 valuable household items and a number of agricultural tools not only from recent centuries, but even from the 12th century. Sumgayit museum is also important because, like all the people of Sumgayit, hundreds of Goycha-Zangazur residents who took refuge in this city can get to know it.

The excursion was interesting for students.
