A Subject olympiad in chemistry and biology was held among students of IX-XI grades dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev at SSU
On May 13, Subject olympiad in chemistry and biology dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, was organized by the faculty of Chemistry and biology of Sumgayit State University.
At the opening of the Olympiad, the dean of the faculty, associate professor Mahal Muradov, spoke about the importance and purpose of the Olympiad. He said that the Olympiad was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. He stated about the exceptional services of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, in the history of statehood, the dean noted that the world-famous political figure became a living legend during his lifetime.He also added that the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was selected from the world leaders with his knowledge, determination, strong will, and leadership skills.
The dean also noted that, the normative-legal basis of education has been strengthened based on the decrees of the head of the country, and large-scale measures have been taken to create a modern education system. The reforms envisaged in the "State Strategy" creates great opportunities for educating more knowledgeable, world-viewing citizens. One of the issues envisaged in the strategy is revealing and developing all abilities and opportunities of talented children. In this direction, Sumgayit State University fulfills its great mission and organizes Subject olympiads in various specialties every year.
Then, Mushkunaz Nazarova deputy dean of the faculty of Chemistry and biology associate professor of the department of Petroleum chemistry and chemical engineering spoke about the importance of organizing the Olympiad for intellectual and educated young people and the development of highly qualified personnel.
It should be noted that 198 students from 34 general education schools in Sumgait city participated in the olympiad. 100 people tested their knowledge in chemistry, and 98 people tested their knowledge in biology. The questions of the Olympiad were prepared by the scientists of the university. After the announcement of the results of the Olympiad, diplomas and awards will be presented to the winners.
