On May 27, the final stage of the VI debate-speech tournament dedicated to the "Year of Heydar  Aliyev" was held under the organization of SSU Student Youth Organization Debate Club and the support of the Student Trade Union Committee.

Anar Gurbanov, the chairman of the SSU Debate Club, opened the ceremony, greeted the participants and gave detailed information about the debate-speech tournament on the topic "Human capital is more important than natural resources in the economic development of countries", spoke about the purpose of the program. He noted that 14 teams participated in the Debate forum. On  May 20-21, the teams "Technical victory" of the faculty of Chemistry and biology and "Eros" of the faculty of Mathematics qualified for the final.

In the final, the competition of "Technical victory" and "Eros" teams started. The "Technical Victory" team became the winner of the VI debate-speech tournament in a tense and interesting competition.

Vice-rector for Social affairs and public relations of SSU associate professor Elmar Khalilov greeted the participants and congratulated the winning team at the ceremony. He appreciated  the activities of the debate club, spoke about the exceptional role of debates in the development of young people, the youth policy implemented in the country, and the attention and care given to young people. He said that the state youth policy, which was founded by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, is successfully continued today by Mr. President Ilham Aliyev. The  youth policy creates conditions for the growth of the role of the young generation in social and political life, their transformation into the leading force of the country, and the formation of creative youth. The economic power of Azerbaijan, which is increasing year by year, allows to take more effective measures and implement large-scale programs and projects in the direction of ensuring the physical, intellectual and spiritual development of young people, solving their social problems, supporting their innovative ideas and initiatives, revealing their knowledge and skills. Today, young people are closely involved in the socio-economic and social-political life of our republic.

At the end, trophy and medal were presented to the winning team, the best speakers were awarded with medals, and all participants received certificates.
