On May 31, the next meeting of the Scientific Council was held at Sumgayit State University.

Rector of the university, chairman of the Scientific Council professor Elkhan Huseynov opened the meeting with an introductory speech and after greeting the members of the council, professors and teachers, congratulated a group of employees of the university who received scientific degrees and academic titles on behalf of the members of the Scientific Council, wished them new success in their scientific and pedagogical activities.

Then the rector informed about the issues on the agenda and was approved.

Faig Shirinov, director of the Teaching Methodological Center, spoke about the results of the students" experience at the undergraduate level in the 2022/2023 academic year and stated that the pedagogical and industrial experience were fully completed according to the schedule. Regular checking of pedagogical and industrial practice, supervision of the preparation of practice reports by students was entrusted to practice supervisors, department heads and faculty deans. According to the profile of each specialty, during the internship organized in various educational institutions, students performed properly to the program with the organization of group leaders and the participation of their teachers. During the internship period, the students demonstrated their skills to use modern learning technologies as well as their ability to create lessons in accordance with the requirements of the curriculum. Faig Shirinov also emphasized that a group of students, who showed good activity during the internship period, were offered employment in enterprises.

Deputy rector for International relations Gafar Atayev informed about the report of the delegation of Sumgayit State University"s business trip to Ufa State Oil Technical University. He said that the next event from the series of events held in connection with the declaration of 2023 as the "Year of Heydar Aliyev" by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan was the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, which was held on May 24 at the Ufa State Oil Technical University within the framework of the Association of Russian-Azerbaijani Universities. on the occasion of the opening ceremony of the "Auditorium of the Republic of Azerbaijan" dedicated to the history and culture of Azerbaijan.

At the opening ceremony of the auditorium, USPTU rector Oleg Baulin and the professors of the university  and teaching staff, as well as Sumgayit State University vice-rector on General affairs Asad Mammadov, head of the department of petroleum chemistry and chemical engineering, professor Akbar Agayev, dean of the faculty of Chemistry and biology, associate professor Mahal Muradov, along with the university"s teaching staff delegation took part. The event was also attended by leading representatives of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora living in Bashkortostan, deputy of the Azerbaijan Milli Majlis, member of the working group on Azerbaijan-Russia inter-parliamentary relations, and Azerbaijani students currently studying at USPTU.

Academician Ramil Bakhtizin, Rafik Jamalov, vice-rector on International relations of ASOIU, and a group of SSU scientists joined the opening ceremony, which took place in a hybrid format. Under the title of outstanding personalities - the state symbols of Azerbaijan, the legacy of Heydar Aliyev, the Association of Russian-Azerbaijani Universities, the scientific school of Azad Mirzajanzadeh, the natural resources of our country, oil, climate and geography, minerals, science and industry, culture and art, carpet weaving, historical monuments of our country - Gobustan, the capital Baku 12 plaques were created.

It should be noted that the delegation also attended the 31st International "Gas.Oil.Technology" held in Ufa on May 23-25, 2023 exhibition, participated as an expert in the Olympiad organized by USPTU, in the event organized by the Diaspora on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Associate professor Mahal Muradov, dean of the faculty of Chemistry and biology informed about the business trip of the SSU delegation to the Perm State National Research University. He noted that in order to expand bilateral and multilateral cooperation between PMETU and SSU, a detailed exchange of ideas was held, as well as discussions in the direction of student and teacher mobility.

Associate professor Gunel Pashayeva, director of the Strategic Development Center, presented the report of the business trip of SSU delegation  to Brandenburg Technical University of the Federal Republic of Germany.

After the report, it was assigned to the heads of the respective structures to determine the relevant qualifications for the implementation of the dual diploma program between the Brandenburg Technical University of Germany and SSU in this direction. Also, the SSU delegation"s presentation in front of the students of the Brandenburg Technical University of Germany on the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was positively evaluated.

Associate professor Lala Bunyatova was informed about the activities of the Student Scientific Society of SSU. She said that preparations for the 8th scientific conference to be held in 2023 were  continued. The members of the Student Scientific Society were constantly expanding relations with the universities of the republic and foreign countries, they actively participated in the international Olympiads held at the Ufa State Petroleum Technical University. Team  of SSS was ranked among the 10 best teams in the Republic, in the startup competition which held online in Hungary. The  preparations for the VIII Scientific Conference of the Student Scientific Society dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev were always in the spotlight, the head of SSS associate professor Lala Bunyatova stated  the further improvement of the efficiency of the activity of the Student Scientific Society. Support  and provision of the participation of SSS members in conferences and Olympiads  in foreign universities was entrusted to the heads of departments, faculty deans, and the general management was assigned to the vice-rector on Science and innovations professor Ramazan Mammadov.

Faig Shirinov, director of the Teaching Methodological Center, gave a detailed speech on the regulation of the distribution of 30 credits intended for practice in educational programs, and it was decided to allocate 21 credits for practicing and 9 credits for the preparation of a report. In the discussion of current issues, Scientific secretary professor Mukhtar Samadov noted about the dissertation of associate professor of the department of Methodology, correspondence doctoral student of the doctor of Science program, Rasmiyya Mammadova, informed about the topic of her doctoral dissertation in the new editorial office and the appointment of the scientific supervisor for the dissertation works of the assistant of the department of Solid State and Semiconductor  Durdana Alasgarova, and doctoral student of the department of Azerbaijani language and its teaching methodology, Khalida Guliyeva.

Scientific secretary professor Mukhtar Samadov informed about the granting of publishing rights to educational materials and stated that the Scientific Council received 4 teaching materials and 1 methodical material.

After the discussions, publishing educational materials was allowed.

Then the issues of filling petition to the HAC for giving the professor scientific title to the professors Adil Bakhshaliyev and  Shirkhan Salimov to the vacant 0.5 full-time professor positions in the department of history of Azerbaijan and Eastern Europe peoples, Javanshir Mammadov to the vacant 0.5 full-time professor positions in the department of Automation and management was discussed  as well as  Mukhtar Samadov to the 0.5 full-time professor positions in the department of Chemistry and its teaching methodology for their  scientific and pedagogical activities.

After the discussions, relevant decisions were made based on the results of secret voting.
