On July 7, the final meeting of the Academic Council of Sumgayit State University was held in the current academic year.

Rector of the university, chairman of the Scientific Council, professor Elkhan Huseynov, opened the meeting with an introductory speech and after greeting the members of the council, professors and teachers, congratulated a group of employees of the university who received scientific degrees and academic titles on behalf of the members of the Scientific Council, wished them new success in their scientific and pedagogical activities.

Then the rector informed about the issues on the agenda and the agenda of the meeting was approved.

Rector professor Elkhan Huseynov made a speech about the general results of the examination session of the spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year and talked about the successes achieved and the tasks ahead.

At the meeting, Faig Shirinov, director of the Teaching Methodological Center for the bachelor"s level, Sabir Khalilov, the director of the Doctorate and master"s department for the master"s level, associate professor Matanat Pirguliyeva, director of the Sumgayit State Technical College under the SSU, informed about the results of the examination session of the spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year to their members, highlighted the success indicators of individual faculties and other statistical information. Exams in accordance with the order No. F-282 of the Minister of Science and Education Mr. Emin Amrullayev dated May 19, 2022 "On the organization and conduct of the examination session" and the order No. R-26/1 of the rector of SSU professor Elkhan Huseynov dated May 12, 2023 was carried out It was noted that the exam session was held in an organized form, the coordinators supervising the exams were informed in advance, the course of the exams was under the constant control of the university management and faculty deans, the Appeals commission and the Examination headquarters were active during the exam session.

It was decided to submit the report on the results of the examination session of the spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year to the Ministry of Science and Education by July 10, 2023.

Speaking about the work plan of the Scientific Council and the implementation of the decisions of the Council for the academic year 2023-2024, the scientific secretary professor Mukhtar Samadov noted that the decisions of the Scientific Council are implemented on time by all faculties, departments and other structures, promising issues were always in the spotlight, work is continued in the direction of their fulfillment, and if necessary, their revision is carried out.

After the discussions, the Work plan of the Scientific Council was approved.

In the discussion of current issues, Faig Shirinov, director of the Teaching Methodological Center, informed about the adjustment of payments for the hourly teaching load of the teaching staff of SSU and pointed out that it is appropriate to adjust the payments for the hourly teaching load to the corresponding salaries. Then the approval of curricula for new specialties was discussed. Environmental engineering at undergraduate level (Part-time); Mathematics (Part-time); Curriculums of corrective training majors and specialization in Marketing (by fields) at the Master"s level; Banking specialization of finance major; the transportation logistics specialization of the transportation and management organization engineering major and the history speciality of history of Turkish world specialization were approved.

Then the SSU "Intra-University Rules on Academic Integrity" and "Regulations of the Language and Translation Center" were approved.

The scientific secretary informed about the granting of publishing rights (grif) to educational materials. He noted that 13 educational materials - 1 textbook, 1 bibliographic index, 1 methodical material, 5 subject programs and 3 practical programs - were submitted to the Scientific Council for publication rights. Those educational materials were reviewed in the departments of the Editorial and Publishing Council and the Teaching and Methodological Council of the university for the relevant fields of science, and were recommended to the Scientific Council with expert opinion.

After the discussions, publication of teaching materials was allowed, and the Scientific Council concluded its work in the current academic year.
