A closure and gratification ceremony of football games between the Faculties, dedicated to 20- years anniversary of Azerbaijan Republic Constitition was held with the organization of Sports Club and Students Trade Union.
In those football games the team was represented by seven faculties of University consisting of first course students.
In final game the team of Faculty of Chemistry and Biology met with the team of Economics and Management Faculty. The team of Economics and Management Faculty had lost the game 5- 1. But the team of Faculty of Physics and Electric Energetics confined with the third place.
Vice-rector for Humanitarian Affairs, associate prof. Nizami Namazov congratulating the win ner team mentioned that, after Nationwide leader Heydar Aliyevs’s return to the government in 1993 the development of sports has become one of the priority trends of state policy.So, Azerbaijan began to be known as a sports country and joined to the Olympic games. Our sportsmen achieved grand victories. ‘’Your achievements rejoice us not only in the field of education but also in the field of sports”, stated Nizami Namazov.
It proves once more the care of university leadership to the sports field. We are sure that the successes of our students will continue. In closure ceremony Eldaniz Balashov, the student of group 383 from the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology for his amounts of goals, Ilham Qasimov, the student of the group 681 from the Faculty of Engineering for displaying a better game were rewarded with cups, certificates of degree and keepsakes.
