On December 1, educational event dedicated tothe " World AIDS Day"organized by the  university and Sumgait city branch of the Red Crescent Society held in SSU.br<> Vice Rector on Humanitarian Affairs of the university, Professor NizamiNamazov statedin his speech that the AIDS pandemic is one of the most serious problems in the field of infectious diseases in the world. Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome - AIDS is a “gained” disease. Vice Rector noted that the problem is urgent and is constantly controlled by the Ministry of Health in Azerbaijan. 
Associate professor of Zoology and human physiology department gave detailed information about the existence of AIDS and its spread, treatment and prevention of the spread and ways to prevent it, as well as the ways of the virus spread in the world.
