A Conference On "The Role Of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev İn Promoting The Heritage Of Western Azerbaijan" Was Held At SSU
On October 11, the Baku Club of Political Scientists with the support of the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations, with the aim of public support for the implementation of the "Concept of the Return of Western Azerbaijanis", with the organizational support of Sumgayit State University, "West A scientific-practical conference was held on the topic "The role of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in promoting the heritage of Azerbaijan".
First, the rector of SSU Rufat Azizov and the guests paid tribute to the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev by laying flowers in front of the bust erected in the lobby of the university.
Rector of Sumgayit State University Rufat Azizov greeted the participants of the conference, touched on the relevance of the topic and emphasized the importance of measures in this direction in the regions.
The rector noted the importance of doing consistent work on the topic of Western Azerbaijan in higher education institutions and informed the audience about the future plans of the university.
The head of the project, the chairman of the Baku Club of Political Scientists, Zaur Mammadov, thanked rector Rufat Azizov for the conditions he created, and spoke about the goals of the project "The role of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in promoting the heritage of Western Azerbaijan", on the topic "Returning to the historical lands of Azerbaijan is our national priority: the goal of President Ilham Aliyev for Western Azerbaijan".
At the same time, he noted that the collection of articles entitled "Western Azerbaijan: historical - political aspects" was submitted to the Scientific library of Sumgayit State University.

The member of the Milli Majlis, professor Musa Gasimli, made a wide-ranging speech to the participants of the event on the topic "Establishment of the Armenian state on the lands of Azerbaijan".
The professor spoke in detail about how and under what conditions Yerevan and its surroundings, Zangezur, Goycha were given to Armenians.
MP of the Milli Majlis professor Anar Iskenderov said "Deportation of Azerbaijanis from the Armenian SSR; He made a speech on the topic "Activity of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in Western Azerbaijan".
He talked about the essence of the policy of the Great Leader regarding Zangezur and Nakhchivan.
MP of the Milli Majlis, Candidate of Economic Sciences Emin Hajiyev, during his speech on "Return to Western Azerbaijan as a national priority", touched on the return process and the importance of the Zangezur corridor.
After the official speakers, the scientific-practical conference continued in an interactive form, scientists, intellectuals and young activists expressed their opinions on the topic.
It should be recalled that the Concept of Return to Western Azerbaijan adopted on January 26, 2023 that the injustice committed against Western Azerbaijanis for two centuries will not be accepted.
Also, on the basis of the right to return established in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the Convention on the Status of Refugees and other important international acts, it is necessary to create conditions for the return of Azerbaijanis expelled from the territory of Armenia to their homeland, and to ensure their individual and collective rights after returning there.
Leading the concept of Western Azerbaijan, purposeful activity of our state regarding the historical lands of Azerbaijan are very important factors for achieving our great goals in the coming decades.
