SSU IS ONE OF THE FASTEST ADVANCING UNIVERSITIES ACCORDING TO THE HIRSCH INDEX
Based on the scientific results of the fourth quarter of 2023, the ‘National H-index Ranking’ announced the ranking of scientific institutes and higher education institutions operating in Azerbaijan according to the Hirsch index (H-index) – ‘Azerbaijan National H-index Ranking-2023’.
Compared to the previous year's ranking, SSU has moved up 16 places from 52nd to 36th place among 83 institutions across the country. In the ranking of higher education institutions, it rose from the 31st place to the 16th place. An increase of 8 points was recorded in the Scopus index, and 6 points in the Web of Science index.
The overall h-index of scientific institutions of Azerbaijan was taken into account in the rating, referring to the information received from scientometric databases and platforms such as Scopus, Web of Science and Google Scholar. Based on these data, the Rating indicator of the National H-index and the corresponding position in the rating are formed. It should be noted that the scientific activity of 84 scientific institutes and universities of Azerbaijan was analyzed while preparing the rating list.
National H-index of Sumgayit State University is equal to 7. Azerbaijan National H-index Ranking is an independent international ranking aimed at evaluating the scientific productivity of Azerbaijani scientists, research groups and organizations based on the consolidated h-index.
