THE 1ST REPUBLICAN SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE ON "ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND ITS APPLICATION AREAS" WAS HELD AT SSU
On December 7, the 1st Republican scientific conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev on "Artificial intelligence and its application areas" was held at SSU.
In addition to the structural leaders and professors of leading higher education institutions in our country, scientists from Italy's Trento University, Bulgaria's Varna Technical University, and Ufa Science and Technology University participated in the conference in traditional as well as online format.
Before the scientific conference, the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and those who died for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a minute of silence.
The conference was opened by SSU rector's adviser, associate professor Elshad Abdullayev, who conveyed the greetings of rector Rufat Azizov to the participants. Noting that various events were held in our republic and abroad within the framework of the "Year of Heydar Aliyev", associate professor Elshad Abdullayev said that one of the important tasks of every Scientific Research Institute and our university is to conduct scientific research in various fields and contribute to world science.
Rector's adviser also noted that scientific research and articles published in prestigious magazines play an important role in the formation of the ranking of universities in the world. For this reason, it is important to intensify our scientific research, support innovative scientific research projects. As a result of these activities, it will play an important role in increasing the number of articles published in publications included in the "Web of Science" and "Scopus" scientific platforms, and in forming a unique ranking of our university among world universities.
Abzatdin Adamov, dean of the faculty of Information Technologies and Engineering of ADA University, in his speech, gave information about the history of the creation of artificial intelligence, its development stages and current state.The speaker noted that the "Socio-economic development strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2022-2026 in the context of global technological challenges and transformations and other important conceptual documents were adopted by the head of state, and emphasized that great attention is paid to the development of advanced technologies, especially artificial intelligence technologies in our country.
The dean of the engineering faculty, associate professor Ulduz Agayev, said in his speech that 116 report materials of 197 authors were accepted for the conference from 34 state and private universities of the republic, as well as 108 from other institutions, 3 from scientific institutions of foreign countries, 6 from the Russian Federation, 1 from Italy, 1 from Bulgaria.
Docent Ulduz Agayev noted that the work of the conference will continue for two days on 4 sections.
The speakers talked about the possibilities of artificial intelligence by talking about the development stages of artificial intelligence, its limited, general, and superintelligence types, research areas, expert systems, neural networks, fuzzy logic, natural language processing, and robotics.
A wide range of opinions were exchanged around the reports, and questions were answered.
