COOPERATION BETWEEN SDU AND STP IS EXPANDING
On December 7, Rector of Sumgait State University (SSU) Rufat Azizov and his delegation visited Sumgait Technology Park (STP). At the round table meeting, STP Chief Executive Director Hijran Valehov greeted the guests, expressed his satisfaction with the expansion of effective cooperation between STP and SSU. The chief executive director noted that the industrial park put into operation on December 22, 2009 in the presence of President Ilham Aliyev fully met the needs of the domestic market and also sent products abroad.
Rector Rufat Azizov noted that this meeting is important for both sides, and believes that future cooperation will be successful, which will greatly contribute to the development of the personnel potential of our country. The Rector also reminded that the results of cooperation with institutions located in Sumgayit will play a fundamental role in updating the content of specialties in the coming years.
Chief Executive Director Hijran Valehov noted that higher education institutions that train personnel in this direction are interested in cooperation with SSU.
Shola Aliyeva, Chief Human Resources Administrator of STP, stated that the synthesis of education and practice in the person of SSU within the framework of cooperation will give useful results. ‘In our future cooperation, we hope that your university teachers will participate as mentors in events related to various fields of business’.
Rector of SSU Rufat Azizov expressed his gratitude for the environment created for the sincere meeting and expressed his belief that the memorandum of understanding to be signed between the two institutions will be useful in the near future.
After the meeting, our delegation visited the workshops of the Electric Equipment, Cable and Galvanizing plants, which produce various types of products and have an annual production capacity of two hundred thousand tons, within "STP Global Cable" LLC, and got acquainted with the work processes.
