On December 12, another event on ‘Leadership phenomenon and Heydar Aliyev’ was held at the Heydar Aliyev school of Sumgayit State University.

Ramiz Huseynov, chairman of NAP Sumgait city organization, professor and teaching staff of the university took part in the event.

First, the participants of the event paid a minute's silence in front of the bust of the Great Leader by arranging flowers in front of the bust erected in the lobby of the university.

Rector of SSU Rufat Azizov opened the event with an introductory speech and greeted the participants, Rufat Azizov spoke about the great leader Heydar Aliyev's multifaceted activities and great rescue mission. He said that this time's event also covers the theme of ‘Leadership phenomenon and Heydar Aliyev’. The rector drew attention to the declaration of 2023 as the ‘Year of Heydar Aliyev’ in our country by the Decree of the President of Azerbaijan, and emphasized the important duties of higher education institutions in the direction of learning the heritage of the Great Leader among young people. He noted that even though the great personality Heydar Aliyev is not with us physically, his ideas and great genius live forever. In this direction, a series of events related to Heydar Aliyev's life and activities are being carried out at Sumgayit State University.

Rector Rufat Azizov added that the times when the great leader Heydar Aliyev led our republic are written in golden letters. Starting from the late 60s of the 20th century, in a period of 35 years, under the leadership of national leader Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijan achieved great revival in all spheres of life. The Great Leader confidently brought Azerbaijan out of the harsh trials of history.

The rector stated that the basis of systematic and purposeful activity was laid by Heydar Aliyev in the direction of the liberation of our occupied lands. He said that the glorious victory won by the Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of Ilham Aliyev in the 44-day Patriotic War was completed. Today, as a celebration of our victory, our tricolor flag flies proudly in the lands of the Motherland, in Shusha, the beating heart of Karabakh, in Khankendi.

Chairman of NAP Sumgait city organization Ramiz Huseynov spoke about the great saving role of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. He noted that the Great Leader led our country to the path of development. The head of state, Ilham Aliyev, who confidently continued this policy, laid the foundation of a new historical era while keeping alive the glorious history created by the Great Leader.

Then Sever Mirzayeva, associate professor of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, gave a broad report on ‘Heydar Aliyev's personality: characteristic features of a charismatic leader’. He said that Heydar Aliyev was a strong charismatic personality, a phenomenal politician and statesman. Both in the history of Azerbaijan and in the memory of the people, Heydar Aliyev has remained and will remain as a symbol of an independent and sovereign state, a charismatic political genius, a brave person and the greatest citizen.

Afat Rafiyeva, head teacher of the department of literature of Azerbaijan and foreign countries, on the topic of ‘Embodiment of leadership in fiction and the image of Heydar Aliyev’, Ilaha Musayeva, teacher of the department of Azerbaijani language and its teaching methodology, on the topic of ‘Speaking skill in political leadership’, Gunel Aliyeva, IV year student of the Faculty of Philology, on the topic of ‘Heydar Aliyev and youth’ made a speech.
