On December 22, a meeting was held at the Heydar Aliyev Center of Sumgayit State University with the participation of the Chairman of the Board of Education Development Fund Elnur Nasibov, the project manager Rasul Hashimov and the university's professor-teacher and student staff.

The main goal of the meeting was to discuss opportunities for acquaintance and cooperation between both institutions.

SSU rector Rufat Azizov, who participated in the meeting, welcomed the guests and expressed his pleasure to see them at the university. Rufat Azizov, speaking about the work done by the foundation in the direction of education development, the programs implemented, the special importance the state attaches to the development of education, emphasized that the development of education is one of the main priority directions of the state policy.

The Rector informed about SSU activity directions, innovations and future priorities. He said that every scientific and educational institution has specific goals. During these years, Sumgayit State University has undergone great development, has achieved important achievements in the field of specialist training for Sumgayit city and region, which is the industrial center of the country, and today it is taking successful steps in the direction of training professional personnel. One of the main goals of SSU is to become a university that meets international standards, has innovative, rated, and highly qualified personnel. Also, expansion of relations with advanced local and foreign educational institutions, implementation of international double diploma programs are among the main goals.

The rector also noted that successful steps are being taken in the direction of expanding university-industry relations at SSU, and the establishment of these relations is very important in the establishment of mutual cooperation. Organization of meetings in this direction is also an important factor. Rector advised teachers and students to take advantage of the projects implemented by the Education Development Fund. Elnur Nasibov, Chairman of the Board of Education Development Fund, expressed his gratitude to the university management for the invitation. He said that innovation and scientific research are necessary in higher education institutions. For this reason, universities should set up their work mechanisms accordingly and plan according to the requirements of the time. In higher educational institutions, joint activities in updating the teaching content, joint cooperation in scientific research projects should be carried out.

Then the chairman made a presentation about the work done by the Education Development Fund and gave detailed information about the creation of the Fund, its goals, mission, projects implemented by the Fund, scholarship programs, and stated that the Education Development Fund, established under the Ministry of Science and Education in accordance with the relevant decree of the President of the country Ilham Aliyev The Foundation's activities cover all levels of education, except vocational education. In a short period of time, 5 main strategic directions of action related to higher education institutions were determined. Implementation of academic mobility programs, institutional development of higher education institutions, preparation of scientific journals, publications and textbooks, participation in the development of university-industry cooperation and support for the development of students of higher education institutions and other issues are covered in the strategic directions of action.

The chairman also noted that there are important projects ahead. He also said that all this will attract students to continuous activity in the direction of science and innovation, and will encourage students to take a leading position in the field of science.

The meeting discussed the university's strategic goals and objectives, industry-university cooperation, expansion of students' career opportunities, development of teachers' and students' English speaking skills. The proposals of the participants of the event were heard, the questions were answered in detail by Elnur Nasibov.
