On the 11 thof December there took place an event related with  the Great Personage Heydar Aliyev’s death anniversary in Sumgait State University. First of all the attendants of anniversary laid a wreath in front of Heydar Aliyev’s monu ment, then commemorated precious personality with one minute’s silence. The rector of Sumgait State University,  professor Elkhan Huseynov speaking at a function mentioned that As a result of Heydar Aliyev’s prescient inner and foreign policy Azerbaijan has won prestige , versatile development and forever indepen dence. Azerbaijan has become wordly wide known state as a result of Heydar Aliyev’s  successful policy. In 1969 Heydar Aliyev was choosen as Azerbaijan leader and soon everybody witnessed that the leader who had innovative met hods has come to power. It gave way only to the flourishment of Azerbaijan in  economical, social and cultural spheres of life. 

The rector, professor Elkhan Huseynov also mentioned in his speech that our nationwide leader paying great attention to the educational system has become a favourite leader for all citizens of Azerbaijan. As Heydar Aliyev always stated “Fu ture development of nation is very closely connected with its educational sys tem.” Heydar aliyev tried too much to achieve bringing up national personnels in army forces and on the initiative of Heydar Aliyev there was opened military biased school named after Djamshid Naxchivanski.

On 20 th of September in 1994 there was signed “ century contract “ with other oil  companies of the world has determined the economical strategy of Azer baijan. For Western and European countries Azerbaijan has become a wordly power for his rich resources .

The head  of thedepartment of Azerbaijan history Assistant Professor Amir khan Isayev  made a speech on the theme “ Heydar Aliyev is the architect of Inde pendent Azerbaijan Republic”.

With the organization of Students Trade Union there took place a compete tion for the “Best Article “ dealing with Heydar Aliyev.

In the competition 1st year student of “ the  faculty of History and Geography” Nazli Mammadova  “Heydar Aliyev and modern developed Azerbaijan’’ has gained the 1 st place. In the 2 nd place were  the  3 rd year student of the faculty of History and Geography Togrul Alizade ‘’ Heydar Aliyev and national state tradi tions”  and 2 nd year student Yashxanim Bagirzade  from the Faculty of Mathe matics “Heydar Aliyev is the founder of National Constitution”, 3 rd place Onchebe Vakkas the 1 st year student of the faculty of Filology and 4 th year student of the same faculty   Seide Musayeva “Heydar Aliyev and Azer  baijan diaspor”.

1 st place was estimated with 300 man, 2 nd place 200, 3 rd place 150 man.
