In the faculty of Philology, Chemistry and biology of SSU, in accordance with the "Rules for holding the positions of head of department, dean and deputy dean in higher education institutions" of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the election of deans was held at the general meeting of faculty employees.

Gunel Pashayeva, a graduate of SSU, associate professor of the department of Azerbaijani language and its teaching methodology, director of the Strategic Development Center, PhD in philology was elected to the  faculty of Philology  and associate professor Rashad Salimov  head of the "Systematics and geography of higher plants" laboratory of the Institute of Botany, PhD in biology was elected to the faculty of Chemistry and biology.

Pashayeva Gunel Bakhsheyish  gizi was born in the city of Sumgait. She graduated with honors from the Philology faculty of Sumgayit State University at the  bachelor's and master's degree. According to the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 23, 2017 (protocol N17-k), the scientific degree of PhD in philology, according to the decision dated 16.12.2022,  for the scientific-pedagogical activity in the specialty of the field of Philology in the Azerbaijani language received the academic title of docent. She regularly participates in national and international scientific conferences, her articles are published in different countries. She is the author of 1 textbook, 1 monograph, 5 subject programs, about 40 scientific articles and theses.

Salimov Rashad Allahverdi was born in Lerik district.He graduated with honors from Ganja State University, faculty of Biology and chemistry at the  bachelor's and master's degree . By the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on May 31, 2010, he received the scientific title of PhD. in biology, and by the decision of May 27, 2016, he received the academic title of associate professor in Biology.

From 2010 to the present, Rashad Salimov has been teaching Biology in Khazar University, BEU, BSU SABAH groups, and since 2017, he has taught various subjects in Botany at the master's degree of ANAS Botany Institute. He was a leading expert on IPBES Global Assessment for 2016-2019, a member of the working group on "National Strategy for 2017-2020 on the protection and sustainable use of biological diversity in the Republic of Azerbaijan". Since 2015, he has been the country coordinator of the International Biology Olympiad for Azerbaijan, and since 2016,  and a member of the Taxonomic Working Group of the World Flora Online Consortium. Currently, he continues joint scientific research   with  Free University of Berlin, Germany , Berlin Botanical Garden and Botanical Museum. In total, more than 80 scientific works (including 3 books, 1 book chapter, 6 textbooks, 47 articles and 37 theses) were published. He is a reviewer of the international journal Environment and Ecology Research. In 2022, by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, he was awarded the Tereggi medal for special achievements in the field of subject Olympiads and student training.
