EDUCATIONAL MEETINGS WITH YOUNG PEOPLE WHO VOTED FOR THE FIRST TIME CONTINUE IN SSU
On January 22, at Sumgait State University, another educational meeting was held with young people who will vote for the first time in the early presidential elections, organized by the Union of Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations (ASYO) and supported by the Central Election Commission (CEC).
SSU Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations Associate Professor Elmar Khalilov opened the event with an opening speech, greeted the participants, introduced the representative of the Central Election Commission and gave general information about the upcoming Presidential elections. Congratulating those who voted for the first time, he invited them to actively participate in the upcoming presidential elections. Docent Elmar Khalilov, speaking about the importance of providing detailed information about the election process to the young people who will participate in the voting for the first time, said that the main purpose of holding educational meetings is to inform young people about the election system, the rights and duties of the voter, as well as the level of awareness of the students who will participate as voters for the first time in the upcoming elections and increasing voter turnout.
Then Khayal Malikov, chairman of Sumgait II electoral district No. 43, gave a speech and informed the young people who had the right to vote for the first time about the rights and duties of the voter, the rules for checking the voter lists, the rules for inclusion in the lists, and the rules for voting elsewhere in the country.
At the end of the meeting, the students' questions were answered.
