On March 5, Sumgayit State University organized a scientific-practical seminar dedicated to the "Year of solidarity for the sake of a green world" Climate changes - The need to create green energy resources.

At the seminar, director General of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, professor Islam Mustafayev, corresponding member of ANAS, professor Fagan Aliyev, head of the Ecology Department of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, President of the Eco-Energy Academy, Elnur Islamov, Head of the Greening.Global platform, and SSU- professor-teachers and students participated.

The rector of the university, associate professor Rufat Azizov, opened the seminar with an opening speech, greeted the guests and participants, spoke about the importance of the seminar and stated that the declaration of 2024 by President Ilham Aliyev as the "Year of Solidarity for the Green World".

Rufat Azizov stated that successful steps have been taken in global action in the fight against climate change and noted that the territories freed from occupation and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic have already been declared a "green energy" zone. I believe that our country's hosting of the Conference of the Parties to the Framework Convention on Climate Change-COP29 in 2024 will give a great boost to our country's work in this direction.

Then the participants presented their topics on different topics:professor Islam Mustafayev, Director General of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, corresponding member of ANAS, "Features of Climate Change in Azerbaijan, Its Impacts and Adaptation Measures", professor Fagan, head of the department of Ecology, Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, President of the Eco-Energy Academy Aliyev "Green energy and natural resources in the sustainable development of Karabakh", Elnur Islamov, head of the Greening.Global platform, "Model of encouraging commercial companies to the greening movement - Greening.Global Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Model", head of the Department of Electromechanics, associate professor Turgay Huseynov "Flying electricity stations", head of the department of Ecology, associate professor Rahila Ahmadova "Environmental education of young people in connection with the Year of Solidarity for the sake of a green world".

The speakers evaluated the holding of such a prestigious event as the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change-COP29 in Azerbaijan as a result of the successful activities of the country's President.

At the end, there was a broad exchange of views on the topic, rich opinions were voiced on environmental protection, protection of forest strips and water resources, increasing greenery and other issues in the "Year of Solidarity for the Green World".
