The people of Azerbaijan have rich national and moral values. Protection and promotion of these values is a very important issue. In this direction, on March 13, an event was held at Sumgayit State University within the framework of the project "Days of melodious kalaghayi " under the initiative and organization of "Mirvarid Dilbazi Poetry Assembly" Public Union with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

First, the participants got acquainted with the exhibition of ancient kalaghayi belonging to the Kalaghayi house museum organized in the lobby of the assembly hall of the university.

Then the vice-rector for Social affairs and public relations of the university, associate professor Elmar Khalilov, gave a speech about the nature of the event carried out in the direction of protecting national and moral values, the history, forms, patterns, and decorations of the Azerbaijani kalaghayi. National  and moral values are the moral wealth and moral treasure of the nation, associate professor Elmar Khalilov stated that the people of Azerbaijan have always demonstrated their loyalty to their national values in all periods of historical processes. As a clear example of the high attention and care for the protection of our national values, the development of the art of kalaghayi in our country is in the center of attention. It has been confirmed at the international level that this art is the most important cultural example in the system of national and moral values of the Azerbaijani people. Thus, at the meeting of UNESCO's Intergovernmental Committee on Intangible Cultural Heritage held on November 26, 2014, the art of Azerbaijan Kalaghayi was included in UNESCO's Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage under the name "Kelaghayi Symbolism and Traditional Art". Kalagayi, as a head covering that completes our national costumes, has passed from centuries to centuries, generations to generations, and has reached the present day.

Later, the chairman of the "Mirvarid Dilbazi Poetry Assembly" Public Union, the director of the private "Kelagayi Museum", poet, publicist Gullu Eldar Tomarli made a speech and stated that the purpose of the event is to spread national and moral values among the young generation. The chairman of the Union emphasized that the future of Azerbaijan as an attribute of national values is widely promoted in the country and abroad. She expressed her  gratitude to everyone who contributed to the organization of the event.

The event continued with the literary and artistic part prepared by the students, musical numbers and poems were played.

It should be noted that 2024 is the 10th anniversary of our country's entry into UNESCO and its recognition by the world community thanks to First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva. On this occasion, the book "My mother was kelaghayi, kelaghayi- my mother" was published, "Kelaghayi museum" was established in 2022 as a project of the public union, and literary and artistic events are held in various educational institutions to promote our kelaghayi.
