Our students at the STEAM Innovation Center
On April 4 and 5, with the support of the SSU Student Union Committee, a group of students from the faculties of Natural Sciences and Engineering visited the STEAM Innovation Center.
Our students, under the guidance of assoc. prof. Fuad Mammadov, head of the department of Physics and its teaching methodology, and tutor of the faculty of Engineering, Ilhama Bayramova, are in the center of the aviation place, classical Newton, Newton for children, games, construction, idea workshop, "Eureka Classics" rooms, robot development laboratory, "3D hologram ”, VR/AR rooms, STEAM TV studio and a large hall for the Science Theater.
The first three floors of the Center, located in a new four-story building, were designed in the concept of a Science Museum. The 4th floor is designed as an activity zone for pupils and students according to the content of various STEAM modules.
Tarana İbrahimli, the center's SIC collegiums specialist, gave extensive information to the students of SSU about the necessity and history of the establishment of the institution. The expert stated that positive dynamics were recorded in the surveys conducted on the stages of implementation of the projects presented by the center. These projects are included in the State Program for 2022-2026, Tarana Ibrahimli pointed out that students who want to gain knowledge and skills in innovation schools can start training after 4+ years of age.
It was also noted that schoolchildren and students of different age categories applying to the center can realize their skills by using the acquired knowledge and ICT equipment.
Students saw in their personal examples how interesting exponents on various modules focus on the observer, how our brain and senses create events. By observing the amazing motion trajectory of the Nipkov Disc, feeling the Freezing Burn, and understanding the Racing Wheels, they observed that the realization of new ideas as a result of the combination of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) is not a dream.
