An employee of SSU attended trainings in the Kingdom of Denmark within the framework of an international project
Within the framework of the project ‘Improving Green and Sustainable Economy, Renewable Energy and Mitigation of Climate Change (REFRESH) in Azerbaijan Universities’ in which the coordinator of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (unec.edu.az) and partner of Sumgait State University participated, a practice visit to the Technical University of Denmark (TUD) of the Kingdom of Denmark took place.
Representatives of UNEC, Azerbaijan University of Technology (AUT), Ganja State University (GSU), Mingachevir State University (MSU), Lankaran State University (LSU) and Sumgait State University (SSU) represented their institutions.
It should be noted that SSU was represented by Associate Professor Rashad Salimov, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences.
The purpose of the visit was to improve and guide local partner universities in the field of alternative and renewable energy in an innovative direction.
On the first day of the visit, the representatives of UNEC and local partners informed the REFRESH project team of the Technical University of Denmark about the institution they represent, as well as gave a presentation speech to the TUD representatives about the status of existing programs in the field of alternative energy.
During the five-day practice visit, TUD REFRESH project trainers Mads Peter Sorensen, Jalal Kazempour, Per Sieverts Nielsen, Martin Brynskov, Ivano Eligio Castelli, Henrik Madsen and others taught the participants about the university"s renewable energy sources, forecasting of renewable energy production (wind, solar, water) and presented bachelor"s and master"s programs in engineering majors in consumer adaptation, sustainable energy technologies. Including sustainable energy systems, the use of artificial intelligence during the teaching of subjects in the mentioned direction, renewable energy sources - solar and wind energy, heating systems, and recommendations were analyzed and recommendations were made to improve the syllabus.
On the next days of the training, a workshop was organized for the participants to exchange ideas in the direction of developing the programs of partner local higher education institutions. Within the framework of the
workshop, a wide discussion was held about program portfolios, content and teaching materials.
On the last day of the practice trip, training of trainers (ToT) was held for local partners.
