Sumgait State University signed a tripartite cooperation agreement on IELTS exam promotion
On May 3, Sumgait State University (SSU), Education Development Fund (EDF) and Education Quality Assurance Agency (EQAA) signed a tripartite cooperation agreement ‘On encouraging university scientific and pedagogical staff and students to take the IELTS exam’.
Rector of SSU Rufat Azizov welcomed the participants and opened the event by informing about the activities of the university. In SSU, which has a classic university model that provides undergraduate and graduate education in 6 faculties, current initiatives such as preparation courses and organization of exams were discussed in order to improve the English language level of teachers and students. At the same time, Rufat Azizov noted the importance of English language skills in modern times and informed about the plans for teaching in English at the university.
In his speech, Elnur Nasibov, Chairman of the Board of Education Development Fund, spoke about the Fund's general activity, strategic goals and the importance of the project. It was noted that the agreement includes tripartite cooperation within the framework of supporting the activity of developing the English language skills of scientific and pedagogical staff and students. Elnur Nasibov stated that EDF will support the activities of the Sustainable Development Center at the university.
Tural Ahmadov, Chairman of the Management Board of the Agency for Quality Assurance in Education, made a speech and noted the role of language skills in the labor market and talked about the projects implemented in this direction. He said that the IELTS exam promotion project will have a positive effect on the future achievements of teachers and students.
The meeting also discussed the possibilities of promoting joint activities in the establishment of mutual cooperation.
At the end of the event, the tripartite cooperation agreement was signed by SSU rector, associate professor Rufat Azizov, EDF Board Chairman Elnur Nasibov and EQAA Board Chairman Tural Ahmadov.
