A PRESENTATION ON THE VISIT TO THE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF DENMARK WAS HELD AT SSU
On May 8, at Sumgait State University (SSU), a presentation on the results of the visit to the University (DTU) was held within the project "Improving Green and Sustainable Economy, Renewable Energy and Mitigation of Climate Change (REFRESH) in Azerbaijan Universities" in which the coordinator of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (unec.edu.az) is a partner of SSU, the Danish Technical University of the Kingdom of Denmark.
Rector of SSU Rufat Azizov opened the event and emphasized the necessity of similar presentations that are applied and reported as a logical conclusion of the projects in which the university participates.
Relations between educational institutions and industrial enterprises are effective when they are built on the principle of supply and demand.assoc.prof. Rufat Azizov spoke about the duties assigned to the departments of the university for this purpose. Along with the renovation of the laboratories, the rector stated that steps are being taken in this field.
Associate professor Rufat Azizov spoke about the agreement signed between SSU and BP Azerbaijan on the creation of a new master"s degree program, the agreements reached with Sumgait Technology Park and other institutions, mentioned the mutual benefits of joint programs.
Expressing his belief that the Sustainable Development Center to be established at the university will give impetus to activities in this direction, the speaker emphasized that it is inevitable to work at the level of today"s requirements.
Later, the dean of the faculty of Natural sciences, associate professor Rashad Salimov, said that representatives of Sumgait State University, Azerbaijan University of Technology, Ganja State University, Mingachevir State University and Lankaran State University were in DTU under the coordination of UNEC in April of this year.
He emphasized that during the visit, which aims to improve and guide the local partner universities in the field of alternative and renewable energy in an innovative direction.
The faculty dean of DTU stated that "REFRESH" project of the university undergraduate and graduate programs in engineering specialties related to forecasting renewable energy production (wind, solar, water) and adaptation from the consumer aspect, sustainable energy technologies have been presented. Then the video was shown.
