On June 6, the opening ceremony of the "Future Engineers" training program was held at Sumgayit State University within the framework of industry-university cooperation.
At the event, rector of SSU, associate professor Rufat Azizov spoke about the importance of the "Future Engineers" training program, which is implemented in accordance with the Joint Action Plan of the university and industrial enterprises. He said that SSU organizes internship programs, various trainings, conferences and student camps for students together with industrial enterprises, which creates conditions for interaction of the university with industrial enterprises and increases students" interest in high-tech, innovative knowledge and skills.
Speaking about the close cooperation of SSU with the STP Group of Companies, the rector mentioned about the contributions of the "Power of Tomorrow" - training of young engineers and "Gentle Engineers" - development of women projects to society, about the participation of SSU students in both projects, the relations between the two institutions. He pointed out that it will expand further in the future.
Then Rufat Azizov made a presentation about the purpose of the training program and the topics covered.
At the event, Shola Aliyeva, Chief Human Resources Administrator of the STP Group of Companies,informed the event participants about the Group"s vision and implemented projects in the direction of youth development. She said that in recent years, hundreds of young people have benefited from the paid internship programs organized by the STP Group of Companies and have taken the first steps in their careers. As a continuation of the successful outcome of the project, in the second half of 2024, it is planned to attract an additional 200 talented young people specializing in unique technical fields in engineering and industry to the program. With this, our main mission is not only to prepare quality personnel for STP companies, but to contribute to the country"s labor market in general by training human resources that meet modern requirements.
Shola Aliyeva emphasized the contribution of the training program implemented with SSU to increase the technical knowledge of the interns participating in the Training Program, and noted that since most of the industrial enterprises of the STP Group of Companies are located in Sumgait and nearby areas, the relevant project is also of great importance from the perspective of the future employment of the students of this university.
She also pointed out that this program is intended for the final year students of the university. Under the new program, engineering students will gain a wide range of skills and experience.
At the event, the relevance of joint scientific, experimental and research subjects with university-industrial institutions was discussed, and it was noted that special programs are planned for the purpose of training qualified personnel for the company.
Seymur Talibov, a graduate of Sumgait State University and an employee of STP Group of Companies, spoke at the meeting and spoke about the importance of the projects realized within the framework of the "Power of Tomorrow" Development Program implemented by the Company and the great impact such projects have on the future careers of students and wished success to the interns.
