Sumgayit State University (SSU) made its successful debut as a new participant placing 483rd in the rankings of European Universities by QS, a prestigious international ranking organization, Despite the fact that more than 5000 higher education institutions operate in 50 European countries, only 684 universities were able to enter the QS European Ranking. It is an important achievement that SSU is distinguished among European universities in the rating system, in which it participated for the first time.
At the same time, SSU stood out in the regional lists of QS European Rankings. Among the universities of Western Asia, SSU was the 31st, the 5th in the general ranking within Azerbaijan, and the first among the country"s regional higher education institutions to be included in the QS International Rankings. These ratings include SSU among the best universities in Europe reflecting its leadership in the higher education system of Azerbaijan and West Asia.
In the international ranking in which SSU was represented for the first time, it was distinguished in terms of academic and employer reputation criteria. This, in turn, can be evaluated as a result of the recent university reforms in the local and international academic environment and trust in SSU among employers. It should be noted that a total of 10 new universities entered the QS European Rankings this year, one of which is SSU.
We are happy to see that recently the number of universities from Azerbaijan included in international rankings has been increasing. This year 9 local universities entered the QS European Rankings. Congratulations to all universities!
