On September 23, the next meeting of the Scientific Council was held at Sumgayit State University. Rector of the university, associate professor Rufat Azizov, greeted the members of the council and introduced two new councilors: Ahmad Ahmadzadeh and Rza Mammadov to the staff, wished them success in their future activities. The Rector also noted that the main purpose of today"s meeting is to discuss and approve the report on the results of the self-analysis regarding the Institutional accreditation of SSU. Then the agenda of the meeting was discussed and approved. In relation to the first issue, associate professor Konul Abasli, vice-rector for international relations, informed about the results of the self-analysis on the institutional accreditation of SSU.The report was approved taking into account the comments and recommendations made during the discussion of the report. Associate Professor Osman Hajiyev, director of the Teaching Methodological Center, made a report on the results of student admission to Sumgayit State University in the academic year 2024/2025. He noted that in the current academic year, the number of students admitted to SSU with high academic score has increased significantly. After the discussions, the results of student admission to Sumgayit State University in the academic year 2024/2025 were evaluated positively. Vice-Rector of Social Affairs and Public Relations Elmar Khalilov spoke about the preparation of the Dormitory of SSU for the new academic year and the placement of students. He noted that it was decided to provide free accommodation in the Dormitory to students admitted to SSU with academic score above 500, as well as those admitted to SABAH groups. In general, the preparation of the Dormitory for the 2024/2025 academic year and the placement of students have been successfully completed. Associate Professor Elshad Abdullayev, vice-rector for Science and Innovations, informed about the discussion and approval of the establishment of the "Academic Advisory" Council and its Statute. He noted that the "Academic Advisory" Council is a collegial body of Sumgayit State University that operates on a public basis and makes independent decisions. Additions and changes to the Statute of the "Academic Advisory" Council are implemented by the decision of the Scientific Council. This will support the comprehensive assessment and implementation of academic policies and strategies by supporting the academic mission of the university, organizing discussions on the development of science and improving teaching, proposing new projects and programs related to the strategic development of the university. The meeting of the Scientific Council ended with the adoption of relevant decisions related to the issues on the agenda.
