The first seminar within the framework of the AZTAF program was held at Sumgayit State University
Within the framework of the Flexible Technical Assistance Program for Azerbaijan (AZTAF) funded by the European Union and implemented by the World Bank, a series of seminars has been launched to promote gender balance in technical education and careers in Azerbaijan. The first seminar was held at Sumgayit State University.
The seminar aims to contribute to the economic development of Azerbaijan by increasing the participation of women in technical fields and reducing gender inequality in the labor market. The event was attended by professors and teachers, career counselors and management of the university.
The main topics of the seminar were the current gender inequality in technical education and the labor market, recent changes in the legislation on women's employment, the main results of the World Bank report on "Removing Obstacles to Women's Employment" in Azerbaijan, and the role of educational institutions in supporting women in technical fields.
During the seminar, the online training course "Labor Safety, Health, Violence and Extortion" developed jointly by the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, in Azerbaijani and English, was presented. Those who successfully complete the course will receive certificates from the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
