The winners of the 2024 Algarish grant competition, professor Javanshir Mammadov, head of the department of Automation and Mechanics of Sumgayit State University (SSU), and Nadir Hajibalayev, associate professor of the department of Energetics, were on a scientific mission to Kazan State Power Engineering University (KSEU) from November 2 to 11. The purpose of this visit was to expand educational and scientific cooperation between the two universities. Our employees first met with the academic staff of the departments of "Theoretical Foundations of Electrical Engineering" and "Electrotechnical Complexes and Systems" of Kazan State Power Engineering University, got acquainted with modern teaching classrooms, innovation and engineering centers, as well as advanced laboratories created with the support of the Tatar Energy State Company. They also visited the high-voltage equipment laboratory of the BAUR company. From November 5 to 8, professor Javanshir Mammadov and associate professor Nadir Hajibalayev conducted master classes for students of KSEU in the relevant specialty groups in accordance with the educational programs on the topics “Fundamentals of project activity” and “Mathematical Modeling of Energy-Saving Electric Machines of Electric Vehicles”. They shared their new knowledge and experience both through theoretical lectures and through laboratory and practical training classes. In addition, our employees participated in the VI All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference “Problems and Prospects for the Development of Electric Power and Electrical Engineering”. Professor Javanshir Mammadov’s presentation at the plenary session on the topic “Modeling the Process of Designing a Technopark and its production at a higher educational institution” aroused the interest of the conference participants. After the conference, associate professor V.V. Maksimov, head of the department of Electrical Systems and Networks, head of the KSEU Technopark, introduced our employees to the new digital substation laboratory and startup projects implemented in the technopark. They closely observed an artificial intelligence-controlled object recognition manipulator, an unmanned aerial vehicle that defects in power lines, and other innovative technologies. As part of the visit, a memorandum of cooperation in education and science was signed between Sumgayit State University and Kazan State Power Engineering University. This document will create a solid foundation for future joint projects, academic exchanges, and innovation initiatives between the two universities. This visit carries out significant importance both in terms of international experience exchange and deepening scientific and educational cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia.
