On March 3 the next lesson on the topic "Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijan Multiculturalism" was heldin "Heydar Aliyev School" in Sumgait State University.
The head of our university Pr. Elkhan Huseynov noted in his speech "Modern Azerbaijan Multiculturalism is a pattern to the world" that being widely spread it is priority ways of state policy. In our country all nations and religions have been unified with friendship and brotherhood relations for ages. Cultural and spiritual values of our nation play great role in people"s peaceful living of different believes and creeds for hundreds of years and in remaining ethnic-cultural differences to our present day. Various religious and ethnic groups live in  peace together in Azerbaijan and historical establishment of tolerant society makes advantageous circumstances for minor ethnic groups inhabited there to preserve existence. Tolerance in our country is also realized with the support of state policy. The political course on protecting multicultural traditions conducted by our national leader Heydar Aliyev is now assuredly maintained by our president Mr. Ilham Aliyev. It should be mentioned that the head of our country makes permanent steps in order to develop multicultural relations in Azerbaijan. The rector also noted that president Mr. Ilham Aliyev significantly contributed in tolerantism traditions and intercultural, intercivilizative values. Therefore Mr. President signed a decree and declared 2016 "The Year of Multiculturalism". It is written in the decree that being the venue for different interflown civilizations Azerbaijan situated on the historical "Silk Road" was known as a country where national-cultural atmosphere was formed for ages and representatives of various nations and confessions was living in peace, quietness, mutual understanding: "Multiculturalism has already become unalternative lifestyle in our country." The establishment of Baku International Multiculturalism Centre is an obvious pattern of tolerantism principles of the policy executing in our republic nowadays. Acceptance of decision to hold the 7th Global Forum of United Nations Organization Civilization Alliance in Baku is a real evidence of their opinion to multicultural atmosphere in Azerbaijan. Rector Elkhan Huseynov emphasized that this action referred to the great historical practice in the field of multiculturalism gained for ages in our country. The notion of multiculturalism is considered to live in in a country, to accept all the cultural rights of different nations, to have humanist outlook and adequate policy. Moreover it is due to preserve and to develop cultural differences of various nations and religions as a whole.
Nowadays, with the purpose to realize the project of teaching "Azerbaijan Multiculturalism" in foreign universities Baku International Multiculturalism Centre held bilateral negotiations with progressive high schools of the region and Central Europe signed mutual cooperation protocols. As a result, "Azerbaijan Multiculturalism" was taught in 7 prestigous universities in the first half last year. In Sumgait State University the subject of multiculturalism is taught as "Introduction to Multiculturalism" in bachelor level, as "Azerbaijan Multiculturalism" in master level. Both in foreign and in inland universities it is taken into important consideration to prepare pedagogical cadres and to supply them with urgent materials and information. All mentioned above show that Azerbaijan is the place where various nations and ethnic groups live in peace, friendship and brotherhood relations and share both their happiness and sorrow. The president of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva always attempts to develop and to preserve our culture and multiculturalism. Therefore our First Lady maintains restoration and reconstruction of mosques, pilgrimages, and also christian and jewish monuments. Mr. President Ilham Aliyev"s quote "Multiculturalism is state policy and lifestyle in Azerbaijan" again proves that our country is a sample to the world in this subject.
The head of Philosophy and Law Department Pr. Hasan Sadigov made a report "Multiculturalism and its Azerbaijan model" and mentioned foundation history of multiculturalism, provision of cultural equality being a sample of multiculturalist society in Azerbaijan, protection and development of historical heritage of various cultures. Nowadays in Azerbaijan universities the subjects of "Introduction to Multiculturalism" and "Azerbaijan Multiculturalism" are taught and dealing with this project Baku International Multiculturalism Centre signed cooperation contracts with Ministry of Education and adequate high schools and in the first half of 2015 Multiculturalism Department was opened in 7 high schools of our republic. Teaching of "Introduction to Multiculturalism" and "Azerbaijan Multiculturalism" was realized in bachelor and master levels of many universities in autumn semester last year.
However, it should be mentioned that the subject of "Azerbaijan Multiculturalism" is taught in 11 universities in the world, and in several prestigous universities of Azerbaijan. This subject is highly taught in our uniersity. PhD.  of Sosiology and Politology Department Javid Memiyev made a report on the topic of "The role of multiculturalism and tolerantism in modern Azerbaijan youth"s patriotic education", the teacher of  Methods of teaching the Azerbaijani Language and Literature Department Nemet Ibayev on "Multiculturalism is the component of Heydar Aliyev"s Azerbaijanism ideology, the teacher  of the Azerbaijani language and Linguistics Department Ali Rzayev on "Heydar Aliyev"s historical role in development of multicultural culture", the chief laborant  of Sosiology and Politology Department on "The role of minor nations in formation of multicultural culture in Azerbaijan".
