On February 26, a memorial event dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the Khojaly genocide was held in Sumgayit. The memorial event was attended by the management of the Sumgayit City Executive Power, deputies, heads of law enforcement agencies, leaders of Sumgayit State University (SSU), families of martyrs and veterans, Khojaly residents living in Sumgayit, and representatives of the city community. The event participants visited the monument erected in memory of the victims of the Khojaly tragedy in Nasimi Park, laid flowers in front of the monument, and respectfully commemorated the memory of our compatriots who died in Khojaly. Then, the memory of the martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence. Later, the event participants met with Khojaly residents who settled in Sumgayit. It was noted that the Khojaly tragedy that occurred on the night of February 25-26, 1992, is one of the most serious genocide crimes committed not only against the Azerbaijani people, but also against all humanity. It was emphasized that the Khojaly victims were avenged during the 44-day Patriotic War, and their blood was not left on the ground.
