SSU celebrates the birthday of martyred graduates
On March 11, an event was held at Sumgayit State University (SSU) organized by the Student Trade Union Committee to commemorate the birthdays of martyred graduates - Seyfeddin Balagayev, Elnur Samedov, Atraf Ganimatov and Vidadi Gahramanov. First, the SSU staff, martyred students and family members of the graduates laid flowers in front of the monument erected in memory of the martyrs in the university courtyard. During the event, which continued in the assembly hall, the memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and all our martyrs who gave their lives for the territorial integrity of our homeland was commemorated with a minute of silence. The Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations of the University, Associate Professor Elmar Khalilov, spoke about the historic victory that the glorious Azerbaijani army brought to our people in the 44-day Patriotic War under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. Noting that the gathering was held in the light of the dear memory of our martyrs, the vice-rector emphasized that their blood did not remain on the ground, and their revenge was taken from the enemy on the battlefield. He also spoke with pride about the heroism of the university"s martyred graduates, wishing God"s mercy on our martyrs and health and healing for our veterans. E. Khalilov emphasized that the attention and care shown to the families of martyrs and veterans at Sumgayit State University is organized at a high level. Drawing attention to the importance of such meetings becoming a tradition, he stated that the university will attach special importance to holding events related to the families of martyrs and veterans in the future. Then, family members of the martyred graduates and deans of the faculties professor Adil Bakhshaliyev, associate professor Ulduz Aghayev they studied spoke about the glorious history of the 44-day Patriotic War, the magnificent victory won, and shared the martyrs" path of battle, the heroism they showed, and fond memories of them.
