A delegation of Sumgayit State University (SSU) is successfully participating in the “Global Sustainable Development Congress 2025”, which will be held in Istanbul on June 16-19, 2025 and is in the spotlight of the world’s higher education community. Organized by the prestigious “Times Higher Education” (THE) International Ranking Agency and hosted by the Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Turkiye, this international event aims to promote global cooperation between universities for a sustainable and sustainable future.

Higher education institutions from more than 30 countries around the world, including universities from Azerbaijan, Turkiye, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, China, the Philippines and other countries are represented within the framework of the congress. Among the 12 leading universities of Azerbaijan, Sumgayit State University is also actively participating in the event with a delegation led by the acting rector, professor Aminagha Sadigov. SSU presents the university's academic, scientific and social achievements in recent years to international participants with its special exhibition stand, while also expanding cooperation opportunities. Participation of SSU in this important international platform is considered an important step towards the university's strategic development line of internationalization, social responsibility, innovative management and contribution to a sustainable future.

The results of the "THE Impact 2025" global rating, compiled by THE, reflecting the indicators of higher education institutions on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, will also be announced on June 18 within the framework of the Congress. This rating is of particular importance in terms of assessing SSU's development in the areas of social inclusion, environmental responsibility and institutional governance in recent years.
