Defense of master student’s thesis has begun at Sumgayit State University. Defense of master student’s thesis began on June 17 and will continue until July 4 in various specialties and specializations. The defense of the dissertations is attended by Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations, Associate Professor Elshad Abdullayev, Director of the Teaching Methodological Center, Associate Professor Osman Hajiyev, Head of the Department of Master's, Doctoral and Science, Associate Professor Samir Orujov, deans of faculties, deputy deans, heads of departments and members of the Specialized Council. Undergraduate students present their dissertations at the defense, which is led by the chairmen of the Specialized Council.

After the members of the council have extensive discussions on the topics related to the dissertation, the dissertation is evaluated according to the approved relevant criteria and, based on a positive result, a decision is made to award a master's degree. It should be noted that 126 master's theses are planned to be defended in the 2024/2025 academic year.
