Sumgayit State University has been included in the QS World University Rankings for the first time, ranking in the 1001–1200 range! A total of 8,467 universities from 106 countries around the world applied to the Ranking compiled by the QS Ranking Agency this year, of which only 1,501 were included in the ranking. According to the results of QS World Universities 2026, our university ranks 7th in the overall ranking for Azerbaijan this year. SSU is the only regional university in the country included in the Ranking. This achievement once again confirms the high level of development of our university's academic activities, international cooperation and scientific and research opportunities. Within the framework of the ranking, our university has demonstrated competitive results in these areas, especially distinguishing itself in the criteria of "Academic reputation" and "Reputation among employers". It should be noted that SSU has achieved significant success by currently being included in the QS European University Rankings. In this ranking, our university is ranked 483rd among European universities, 31st in the West Asian region, 5th in the overall ranking in Azerbaijan, and is the first university among regional higher education institutions in the country to be included in the QS International Rankings.
