On September 10, the first meeting of the Academic Council of Sumgayit State University (SSU) for the 2025/2026 academic year was held. Acting Rector, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Aminagha Sadigov congratulated the council members on the occasion of the new academic year, wished them success in their activities, and brought to their attention the issues on the agenda. The issues discussed at the meeting were the optimization of scientific research work conducted at SSU in priority areas, reported by Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations, Associate Professor Elshad Abdullayev, faculty deans Professor Adil Bakhshaliyev, associate professors Khalida Hasanova, Ulduz Aghayev, Rashad Salimov, Logman Abdullayev, Gunel Pashayeva. Associate Professor Elshad Abdullayev reported on the results of student admission to Sumgayit State University in the 2025/2026 academic year and the state of preparation for the academic year. He noted that the result of student admission to the planned places at SSU in the 2025/2026 academic year was 94.13%, which is the highest result in the history of SSU. Then, the Senior Accountant Ravan Rzayev"s report was listened on the condition of the auditoriums and infrastructure. Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations, Associate Professor Elmar Khalilov spoke about the state of preparation of the SSU Student House for the new academic year. He said that it has been decided to provide free accommodation in the Student House to students admitted to SSU with academic scores above 500 points. The Scientific Secretary, Professor Mukhtar Samedov reported on the discussion and approval of the work plan of the Scientific Council for the 2025/2026 academic year. At the meeting, a wide exchange of views was held on the preparation for the 2025/2026 academic year at Sumgayit State University and the upcoming tasks, as well as the results of admission to SSU at the bachelor"s and master"s levels. In his speech, Professor Aminagha Sadigov also emphasized that the main condition for achieving the set goals is joint and systematic work of the entire team.
