At the initiative of the Department of Language and Literature of the Faculty of Philology of Sumgayit State University, a joint lesson on the subject of "Comparative Grammar of Turkic Languages" was held on the occasion of the approval of December 15 by UNESCO as the "Day of the Family of Turkic Languages". The joint lesson was conducted by a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Philology, Ilaha Musayeva, and, professor at Gazi University in Tükiye, Nejati Demir who joined the lesson via the Zoom platform. At the event, a pre-recorded video speech by Haluk Shukru Akal, a well-known scholar in the field of Turkology, professor at Hajettepe University in Tükiye, and honorary doctor of Sumgayit State University, was shown, making a significant contribution to the scientific content of the lesson. During the lesson, extensive discussions were held on the genealogical relationships, structural and typological similarities, comparative grammatical features of Turkic languages, as well as current directions of modern Turkological research, and an interactive scientific dialogue was established with the students. At the end of the lesson, Head of the Department of Language and Literature of the Faculty of Philology, associate professor Boyukkhanim Eminli made a speech and highly appreciated the content and scientific level of the lesson, emphasizing the effectiveness of such joint and hybrid format lessons in the teaching process.
