On April 9, a group of students and teachers of our university paid a visit to the Memorial Complex of genocide of Guba organized by student Trade Union. The head of this organization ( STUC) Nemat Ibayev spoke about cruel act of the genocide in Guba. He announced that the realities about Azerbaijan had already spread all over the world lately. Heydar Aliyev Fund takes an active part in this way. Since 2007, the collaborators of the Azerbaijan National Scientific. Academy of Archaeology and Etnography made a research in the cemetery and the result was:
More than 400 innocent people were killed,among them were children and women.
Armenian chauvinist-nationalist conducted of genocide against Azerbaijanis within nearly two centuries.
The head of the Career Center of University Zahid Bunyadov assistant dean of the faculty History and Geography Javid Mamiyev and the teacher of the philology faculty Ali Rzayev made a great speech. In their speech they gave information about Armenians massacres in Baku, Shamakhi,Guba,Mugan and Lankaran.
In March-April of 1918 the death toll claimed by Azerbaijani authorities is 50.000 civilians, including children and women.
The great leader-Heydar Aliyev issued a degree on “The genocide of Azerbaijani people 31st of March” on the 27thof March in 1998 which made the 31st of March the day of the genocide of Azerbaijni people. Later on, students and teachers paid a visit to Red(qırmızı) District where mountain Jews live. The representative of the district-Isakh Isakhov and advisor of the department of Public Policy and Humanities of the executive authority of Guba Seyid Jabbarov welcomed the University staff and helped them closely acquainted with the district. During the meeting, It was particularly pointed that thanks to the President of the Republic of Azeribaijan-Mr.Ilham Aliyev, who declared 2016-the year of Multiculturalizm once again proves the fact that in Azerbijani, there is a high decree of ethic and religious tolerance, the government creates equal opportunities and rights for all religious and ethic minorities, at the same time Azerbaijan remains as a stable country to live.
In the end, students got acquainted with the lifestyle of the people of the district and witnessed that how our country remains as the center of multiculturalism and tolerance.
