Students of SSU made a presentation on the economic aspects of urban planning and architecture in our country
On March 5, a seminar on the topic “Urban Vision Showcase 2026 - Year of Architecture and Urban Development” was held within the framework of the Year of Urban Planning and Architecture organized by the Faculty of Economics and Management of Sumgayit State University (SSU). The event took place with the presentation of the “Young Economists” club, was opened by Doctor of Philosophy in Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Galib Huseynov who stated that the seminar was dedicated to presenting the perspectives of territorial planning based on 6 different divisions across the country, analyzing the economic impacts of urban planning policy, discussing regional development strategies, and determining urban planning and architectural priorities, and wished the participants success. The seminar, which featured presentations by 13 members of the "Young Economists" club on the topics of "Territorial Planning and Infrastructure Development", "Regional Economic Potential", "Sustainable Urban Environment and Ecological Approaches", "Architectural Trends and Innovative Solutions", and "Analysis of Priorities for Each Region from Both Territorial and Economic Aspects", began with the moderation of the event"s leader, senior lecturer of the Business Management Department, Ismayil Amirli. In the presentations, consisting of an analysis of modern architectural trends and solutions, and with the demonstration of slides, students tried to reveal the economic and social aspects of urban planning policy. Finally, acting rector of SSU, corresponding member of ANAS Aminaga Sadigov congratulated the Club members for the reports presented in English as a result of interesting research. Noting that the presentations were prepared on the basis of theoretical and practical views, Aminaga Sadigov shared his impressions: "This project of yours is personally interesting to me because each of your speeches has become an invaluable example of motivation for your fellow students. I believe that this example is as important an element as your academic achievements.” Aminaga Sadigov reminded us of the hopes our state and people have for the young talents of our country: “The speeches you presented on various topics within the framework of the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture” at the event were meaningful, and the fact that they were presented in English made me personally proud. Along with this pride, as the head of a higher education institution, I thought that I personally should improve my knowledge of English to an ideal level. You gave me this motivation, and for that I thank each of you.”
