On April 22, on the occasion of World Labor Day, an educational training on the topic “Let's ensure the creation of a healthy psychosocial work environment!” was held at Sumgayit State University (SSU). The training was organized by the Trade Union Committee (TUC) of the university. The event was opened by the Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations of the university, Associate Professor Elmar Khalilov who spoke about the importance of the training. He emphasized the relevance of the topic and said that the university environment is not only a place of education, but also a platform where healthy social relations are formed. He noted that by working in an intelligent collective, educated and responsible young people are raised for society, and socialization and the establishment of effective communication relations play an important role in this process. In this regard, transparency, trust and sincerity are of particular importance as the main values ​​​​of the work environment. In his speech, the Vice-Rector also spoke about the value that the great personality Heydar Aliyev attached to statehood and the human factor, and drew attention to the fact that the policy formulated in the direction of protecting labor rights and improving social welfare in the country is being successfully continued today. He also spoke about psychosocial risk factors, effective communication in the workplace and regulating intra-team relations. Chairman of the TUC, Nemat Ibayev spoke at the training, and said that in accordance with the Committee's action plan, events dedicated to various topics are organized every year on April 28 - World Day for Safety and Health at Work. Touching on the main directions of forming a healthy work environment, he noted that creating safe working conditions, protecting employee rights, organizing psychological support, building healthy relationships within the collective and expanding educational activities are among the priority issues in this area. Creating a healthy psychosocial environment in educational institutions, in particular, is of great importance in terms of the formation and development of future generations. Then, the trainer, associate professor of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology Sevinj Karimova made a presentation on “What is a psychosocial work environment?”, open communication and transparency, fair management, work-life balance, combating mobbing and other topics. Then, the head of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, associate professor Aytekin Mammadova made a speech and said that a healthy work environment is primarily formed by human behavior and attitudes. She noted that the university administration has provided a healthy and transparent work environment. Both the hiring of teachers and the principles of work in the field of scientific activity are based on transparency.
