It was held an Olympiad at our university among VI-VIII th form pupils in the subject of Maths under the motto “ Today’s pupil, tomorrow’s scientist”. It is dedicated to the 93 th anniversary of birthday of national leader HaydarAliyev.
More than 520 students of 42 schools of our city demonstrated their skills and knowledge. The exam was held in test form, during 3 hours, the numbers of questions were 25.
On 29th of April the rector professor ElkhanHuseynov received the winners in HaydarAliyev Center, awarded them with certificates of honor, valuable presents and wished them his good wishes.
In the meeting ElkhanHuseynov told about the affairs, projects for increasing the quality of education. The main purpose for holding this Olympiad is to create an interest to science in early ages.
The rector noted that the pupils of Sumgait city got satisfactory achievements in subject Olympiads. On every Saturday it is held “An opening door”, pupils get acquainted with university.
In the end the director of methodical cabinet of Sumgait City Education Department Sabir Mammadov, the dean of Maths faculty, docent Zafar Huseynov and parents thanked to the leadership of our university and noted that holding such competitions will base for improving pupils’ knowledge in the future.
