The achievements of our scientists are brought to the attention of the world community through the international conferences and symposiums after our republic gained independence. The scientists’ thoughts and opinions are taken into consideration. The head of the department of Chemistry and Chemical Technology prof. AkberAgayev and the dean of the faculty of Chemistry-Biology associate professor MahalMuradov participated in the VI International Scientific-Practical Conference held in Ufa dedicated to “Practical aspects of oil-mining chemistry” on May 24-27.
The conference was co-organized by Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Bashkortostan State University, Ufa State Oil-Technical University, Institute of Transport and Energy Resources Problems, Academy of Science of Russia, Institute of Organic Chemistry named after H.D.Zelinskiy, Institute of Organic and Physical Chemistry named after A.E.Arbuzov of Kazan Scientific Center of Russian Academy of Sciences, Science Support and Development Fund of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Association of Higher Education Institutions of Russia and Azerbaijan.
It was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The plenary session was chaired by the president ofAcademy of Sciences academician AlfizQayazov and rector of Ufa Oil-Technical University professor R.N.Bakhtizin. Professor AkberAgayev speaking at the conference informed about Sumgayit State University, about scientific researches of the department and theses included in the conference programme.
During the conference our scientists met the president of Academy of Sciences of the Bashkortostan Republic academician AlfizQayazov, vise-president RaykhanaKulakova and discussed cooperation between Chemical Institutes and the University.
On their scientific mission they also met co-chair of the Association rector prof. R.N.Bakhtizin, vice-president for academic affairs associate professor IlduzIbrahimov, vise-president for academic methodical affairs associate professor OleqBaulin.  In the meetings with well-known chemists – academician Ural Imashov, associate member Zlotskiy, professor E. Kontor the cooperation between appropriate faculties of SSU and Ufa Oil Technical University and issues relating to the identification of areas of activity have been reviewed.
Professor AkberAgayev spoke at the meeting making proposals to held the I conference of Association in SSU, to choose an honorary professor of the university rector, mutual publishing of scientific articles (free), joint master trainings. Cooperation in the field of doctorate was discussed.
With the personal invitation of rector prof. R.N.Bakhtizin our scientists took part in the opening ceremony of the “World Cup” mini soccer.
Professor AkberAgayev made a report about the results obtained during the  mission in the Scientific Consul of the University.
