On July, 12 the final meeting of the Scientific Council of the academic year 2015-2016 was held. Chairman ElkhanHuseynov welcomed the council members and congratulated MukhtarSamedov, Head of General and Inorganic Chemistry Department of the Chemistry and Biology Faculty on the occasion of getting the title of Doctor of Science in Technics , teacher of World Economics Department ShafigaMammadova, on the occasion of getting the title of associated professor by the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and wished them success in their scientific- pedagogical activity.
Rector of the University professorElkhanHuseynov, brought to the attention of the council members achievements, problems and forthcoming issues. Associated professor IsabalGurbanov, director of the Educational Methodical Center, spoke about the results of spring semester exams in Bachelor`s degree ,results of final assignmentsdefense of fourth year students` and State Exams, associated professor RamizHuseynov, Head of the Department of Master and Doctoral, made a report on the results of spring semester exams in Master`s degree and master`s dissertation defense.
Professor RamazanMammadov, vice-rector for Science and Innovations reported on the preparations for the International and Republic Scientific Conferences that will be held at the University in October-December, 2016.
Associated professor TahirAghayev, Head of the Department of Physical Geography, Candidate of Economic Sciences MehmanAhmadzadeh, Head of the Management Department and Associated professor IsabalGurbanov, director of the Educational Methodical Center, spoke about the report of educational-methodical and scientific works that were held in the Departments of Physical Geography and Management and noted that current situation, discipline, teaching process and scientific researches in the Departments are at a satisfactory level.
Professor RamazanMammadov, vice-rector for Science and Innovations, made a report on accreditation results of the University, Scientific Secretary AgilHuseynov spoke about work plan of the Scientific Council forthe academic year
2016-2017 andimplementation of the decisions of the Scientific Council. The report was discussed, the right decisions were made.
Associated professor GafarAtayev, vice-rector for Extramural, Distance and Further Education talked about his visit to France as a part of discussion of current issues on scientific assignment.He talked about trainings that he attended from June, 27 to July, 2 within the framework of the project ERASMUS + LPEB “In open and distant education format professional bachelor on energy and ecological efficiency of buildings in the Russian Federation, China and Azerbaijan” in the branch of CNAM Institute of France in Paris and Leon, shared with the participants his travel impressions.
Associated professor MahalMuradov, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology, brought to the attention of the council members that on July,5 rector of the University, professor ElkhanHuseynov met Doctor of Science in Chemistry, professor, corresponding member of ANAS, BakhtiyarMammadov who served as a director of the Institute of Polymer Materials of ANAS. At the meeting , directions were discussed on scientific- practical cooperation within the framework of education- science-manufacturing between SSU and Institute of Polymer Materials of ANAS, he added that mutual cooperation agreement will be signed in the future.
Scientific leader of the Student Scientific Society Islam Pashayev noted that ENACTUS team consisting of the members of SSS awarded second place in “ENACTUS Azerbaijan” the XI National Competition, also on the nomination of “Best Entrepreneurial Approach” “Cocoon” (“Goza”) project of our University won.
Then the Charter of Sumgait State Technical College was approved at the meeting. The Scientific Council ended with the discussion of the objectives of the new academic year.
