After declaring the 2016th as the “ The Year of Multiculturalism” by the president of the Azerbaijan Republic, I.Aliyev, it is arranged several ceremonies which related with the purpose of acting against extremism and religious radicalism and also propagating of the tolerant traditions and rich multiculturalism of the Azerbaijani nation at the Sumgait State University. It was held a ceremony in the theme of “Multiculturalism is the love to humanistic values” at the H.Aliyev center of our university.
Opening the ceremony, vice-rector and assistant professor N. Namazov noted that it is approached state and religious relations, national-spiritual values which stays as a fortune from our old generation with special sensitivity in Azerbaijan. If there were not multicultural values, there would not be any mankind culture. He also noted that multicultural values have become the policy of the state, this policy was established by the national leader H.Aliyev and this tradition is being carried on by the president, Mr. I.Aliyev. He mentioned that the preserving, developing and propagating of the multicultural values widely in the limelight of the state administration. The pro-rector also underlined that multiculturalism is one of the priorities of the state policy in Azerbaijan. It is not coincidence that as a public organization “H.Aliyev’s Fund” has a great role in the realizing of this policy. The activity of the Fund in this field is appreciated in the global scale. Speaking about the tasks which were held related with multiculturalism at university, assistant professor N. Namazov said that it is held several ceremonies in the theme of the multiculturalism and this subject is taught highly.
At the meeting the director of the philosophy and law department, professor H.Sadigov “ Multiculturalism is the main source of the national leader H.Aliyev’s Azeri ideology”, The head teacher of the sociology and politology department, Z.Bunyadov  “ Multiculturalism and its modern Azerbaijani model which was founded by I.Aliyev”, The teacher of the Azerbaijani language and linguistics department A.Rzayev “ Azerbaijan is the clear instance of the tolerance and the multiculturalism policy and the protecting of the human rights and freedom”, N. Gasimova, the laboratory assistant “ The historical role of the a few peoples in the developing and the forming of the multicultural in Azerbaijan”, T.Yildiz, the 2nd course student of the History and Geography faculty “ The role of the multicultural policy of the Azerbaijan Republic on the growing up of the young generation”. They took part at the meeting with these articles. They noted that it is given attention to strengthening of the tolerance traditions, preserving of the national-spiritual values and protecting of the human rights and freedoms in our republic.
