Our students had the excursion to Gobustan historical museum on Nov 6 by the efforts of Student’s Trade Union Committee. Having an excursion through the museum halls the students acquainted with the expositions. Advising an interesting info about the engravings on the stones the docent and the head of Historical faculty Mr. A. Isayev clarified that Gobustan is one of the memories of Azerbaijan history. The Preserve is the monument proving that there was a dwelling of the first hunting tribes in the upper Paleolithic and Mesolithic periods, and the first cattle-breeders in the Neolithic period. “Gobustan historical museum” included into the cultural heritage list of UNESCO. Generally, there are 120 countries with rock engravings and only 31 of them declared as the heritage of UNESCO. The Globe, installed in the museum, displays the popular territories of the world by rock engravings. There are three more places with rock engravings in Azerbaijan, namely in Absheron, Nakhichivan in the territory of Gamiqaya and in Kalbajar volcanic area. But, Gobustan rock engravings much more historical than the others. The students acquainted there with rock stones. The key goal of excursion is to inform the students about the history of Azerbaijan and to enlighten them about the rock engravings.
