SSU has got the accreditation certificates, given by the Accreditation Agency in Education Programs of Germany (ASIIN) and European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE). The accredited majors of the university are as follows: Bachelor degree: “Automated engineering of processes” and “Power engineering”; Master degree: “Energy management”.
These three specialties of SSU have owned an accreditation thanks to the activity, done within the project of 516678 Tempus -1-2011-De Tempus-JPCR on “Adaptation of teaching process of Azerbaijani engineering education to the Bologna process” held in Sumgait State University in cooperation with the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic. 
It should be noted that to pass an accreditation is consisting of the special quality criteria and standards. That criterion includes material and technical, normative and legal basis of docs, academic personnel content and evaluation of educators’ knowledge and etc. Accreditation commission examines the cases on the spot, evaluates the knowledge of the students, defines if the graduators are meeting state education requirements and hereinafter that body is allow  to proceed with the major teaching on the basis of above mentioned criterion.
