Azerbaijani Youth became an active social stratum by playing a serious role in the development of society thanks to the special care and support of the President Mr. Ilham Aliyev 
Independence is the national treasure of each nation and the youth is the successful future of them. In the early of last century the founders of the Democratic Republic established the state and made a flag, and afterwards they entrusted it to the youth generation.  Since 70 years, Haydar Aliyev took that burden and realized the mission successfully. He has always taken into account a significant role of the youth in the formation of state principles and therefore, he was promoting them in the system of state management.  “The Day of Youth” established by him has defined the priorities of state youth policy in the country.  
SSU has held an event on occasion of “Day of Youth” on February 2. Above all, the participants have memorized the great leader Haydar Aliyev by putting the flowers to his monument. Afterwards, vise- rector on Innovations and Sciences Mr. Ramazan Mammadov made a speech and congratulated the youth on the occasion of this great day. He noted that the celebration of February 2 as the “Day of Youth” by the initiative of national leader Haydar Aliyev since 1996 is an indicator of the great state support to the youth. Meanwhile, he notified that the youth’s successful career and their study at famous high schools during the Soviet Union is directly associated with the great efforts of Haydar Aliyev. Nowadays, that policy exists and successfully pursued by the current president, his worthy successor Mr. Ilham Aliyev. The youth of Azerbaijan became an active social stratum in the development of society just thanks to the special care and support of the President Mr. Ilham Aliyev.  The vice-president of Haydar Aliyev Fund Mrs. Leyla Aliyeva is a great model of the modern youth of Azerbaijan.
During the event the students had a chance to make the speeches and they widely spoke about the history of Day of Youth. Meanwhile, they touched on the issues of youth policy to be conducted in the country. The students pointed out that they feel themselves confident and save in the result of the President’s successful policy so that they expressed their deep thanks to the President and to the rector of the university as well. Hereinafter, some students, distinguished in the social and political life of the country and university have been awarded with the diplomas and presents.  
In the end an event went on with the performance of “Sema” dance group and “Beyaz” instrumental ensemble.
