SSU has held an event dedicated to the 25th the anniversary of Khojali genocide on initiative of Students Youth Organization and YAP Youth Union. Initially, the students demonstrated the flashmob in territory of the university. Afterwards, an event went on in a bigger ball room of the university. At first, the participants of the event stood for one minute of silence in order to memorize all victims of the genocide and those ones who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the homeland. 
The rector of the university made a speech and notified that this genocide is the act of brutality and atrocity, made against our nation and our country. It is one of the terrible tragedies in the history of the humanity. Our nation will never forget the victims of the tragedy and they keep remaining in the memories of the people. In connection with that bloody memory, SSU and Sumgait State Technical College is conducting a set of the events. The speaker pointed out that our territories which are under the occupation of Armenians will be released soon under the leadership of the President Mr. Ilham Aliyev and our three-colored flag will be restored in Garabakh, which is our native land.
Besides, one of the witnesses of that tragedy Mr. Aydin Aliyev made a speech accordingly. He widely spoke about how he became a captive and noted that the peaceful people killed with a special brutality and undergo to several types of tortures during their being captives. 
Afterwards, students demonstrated live performances, reflecting the scenes of the tragedy and they sang the songs, dedicated to the patriotism spirit. An event ended with literary artistic composition dedicated to the “Khojali memory” .
