On April 4, SSU has held an event dedicated to the martyrs of the battles in the result of provocations of Armenian military forces, realized in the battle-front. Before the beginning of the event, the attendees stood for a minute silence in order to commemorate the memories of the martyrs. Making an opening speech, the rector of the university Mr. E. Huseynov said: “Already 1 year passed since the April happenings. But, those days are still in our memories. The nation saw off the martyr soldiers to the last destination with a big love and honor. Those days once again demonstrated a strong power of our army to our nation. When we see the youth by waving a national flag, saying a slogan with a high spirit “Martyrs are immortal and Homeland is indivisible”, we feel a great honor and pride. At that moment, the will of thousand of youth from the all regions of the country to take part in the battles voluntary and meanwhile, a pride making speeches of the youth during the meetings arranged in our university once again demonstrated a high spirit of patriotism in the country. Those happenings and the used military equipment of Azerbaijan accordingly shown that Azerbaijan is not only completely ready to war but also can get a victory in a short period.” Besides, the rector noted that the President of Azerbaijan Republic, the Commander of Azerbaijani Military Forces Mr. Ilham Aliyev met with a group of military servants on occasion of April happenings and notified that April happening is our glorious victory, namely is a victory that demonstrates the power of our nation, state and army. He said: “In the result of April battles our three colored national flags are waving in the territories of Fuzuli, Jabrail and Agdere, exempted from the occupation. The battles show that our nation will never be reconciled with the occupation of its native lands and will restore the territorial integrity at any cases. The president notified that Laletepe military operation is our symbol of heroism. It is a historical battle. So, if Armenians would fail to analyze the real results of the battles, since then the similar successful battle operations will take place again. The April battles must be mentioned in the military textbooks. Because, the Azerbaijani army has shown its heroism and professionalism in those battles. I believe that a great return, get started to JojugMarjanli will cover Shusha, Khankendi, Lachin and other occupied territories soon. 
The rector pointed out as well that the vise-president of Azerbaijan Republic, The president of Haydar Aliyev Fund Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva met with a group of military servants inquired in April happenings On March 3, 2017. During that meeting, she has been presented by the project on “provision of soldiers and officers injured during 2016 April battles with the high tech dentures”. The vise president notified that April battles once again demonstrated the power and the unity of Azerbaijani nation. We believe that being gathered around Supreme Commander in Chief we will restore our territorial integrity thanks to prowess of our army!” Meanwhile, the rector mentioned during his speech that the graduator of the university of Physics and Electroenergetic department Makail Vahabov has become a martyr heroically in the battles for the territorial integrity of our country. The martyrs are our languor and meanwhile a pride. 
The second course student of department of History and Geography Tunar Ahmadzade and Gulay Najafzade made a speech and notified that we are a nation that fighting for the freedom along the centuries. Only in 20th century we have overcame empire government twice and gained a freedom. We remember our history. Our nation is a good sample to the world with its bellicosity. Homeland, Nation, National Flag and State is superior rather than our lives. It was like that in the past, it is so at present and will be like this in the future. Our nation buried the martyrs of April battles with a huge crowd and the slogans said by the nation at that moment once again prove that our state and nation are united. The land becomes a homeland thanks to our loved ones under the soil. Those Azerbaijani youth, sacrificed their lives for sake of homeland, they reached the peak of martyrdom. One of them is our student Mikail Vahabov, which is the a good sample for us. He is our pride and honor. 
One of the participants of the event was a participant of the Karabakh war Mr. Bilal Mammadov. Making a speech about heroism of Azerbaijani military forces during those battles he noted that each of us is ready to scarify our lives for the sake of our homeland. April battles once again demonstrated the unanimity of national army and the nation. 
 The head of the department of History and Geography, Professor Mr. Adil Bakhshaliyev, making a speech, he stressed that the memories of our martyrs will live in our hearts, in the hearts of the nation. The Professor, addressing to the youth, he said:  “we should come together under a common interest in order to strengthen our independence that to get restored our territorial integrity. I hope that we will achieve it soon thanks to you, to the brave suns and doubters. 
Afterwards, an audience watched a video dedicated to the April battles and an event went on with the artistic performances of the students.
