Mr.Ramiz Huseynov: Declaration of “The year of Islamic Solidarity”, organization of Islamic Solidarity Games is a successful contribution to the establishment of intercultural dialogue, as well as promotion of Islamic culture in the world.
Solidarity and the sense of multicultural loyalty is the way of humanity to prosper. On April 28, at Sumgait State University,  the scientific conference was  held  on the topic of “ Our strength is in our solidarity” devoted to “The year of Islamic Solidarity”  jointly organized by the Knowledge Foundation under the President of Azerbaijan Republic, the State Committee on Works of Religious Associations, Organizing Committee of Baku-2017 Islamic Solidarity Games.
Making an opening speech, vice-rector on humanitarian issues of SSU, assistant professor Mr. Ramiz Huseynov   noted  the declaration of 2017 as “The year of Islamic Solidarity”  by the President, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, at the same time informed about its regional and global importance , the relationship between state and religion, and the works done in the field of promotion and preservation of national, spiritual and Islamic values. He notified that, our country has a great reputation in Islamic world as the main cultural, religious and civilizational center. Nowadays, Islamic world needs unity and integrity.  In this regard, the declaration of 2017 as the “The year of Islamic Solidarity” by the President, Mr. Ilham Aliyev has a special importance. Declaration of “The year of Islamic Solidarity”, organization of Islamic Solidarity Games is a successful contribution to the establishment of intercultural dialogue, as well as promotion of Islamic culture in the world. The strong relationship between state and religion which was founded by Great Leader Mr. Heydar Aliyev is improving rapidly. As the result of the targeted policy of the President, Mr. Ilham Aliyev multiculturalism turned to be the public policy, lifestyle of our nation, thus the great political-moral success followed it. The vice-president of Azerbaijan Republic, the president of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva has a great support on the promotion of Islam religion, national and cultural heritage in our country, as well as in the international arena. Emphasizing the importance of declaration of 2016 as “The year of Multiculturalism”, also declaration of 2017 as “The year of Islamic Solidarity”, vice-rector noted that, holding this kind of events is a well-turned success for an international reputation of Azerbaijan. Assistant professor Mr. Ramiz Huseynov notified his satisfaction on the participation of the students of Sumgait State University among the thousands of volunteers, participating in Islamic Solidarity Games. He thanked to organizational agencies for holding promotional meeting on Islamic Solidarity Games at our University.
Executive Director of Organizing Committee of 4th Islamic Solidarity Games   Mrs Konul Nurullayeva made a report about the history of Islamic Games, involved types of sport, about the countries represented by sportsmen, host countries and the work principle of Operating Committee. The sportsmen of 57 Islamic countries will participate in competitions; it shows the coverage of all Islamic countries.
Hereinafter, the following people made the speeches accordingly: The head of Knowledge Foundation under the President of Azerbaijan Republic, prof. Mr Isaxan Valiyev  dedicated his speech to “Islamic Solidarity against the religious extremism”; the chief of expertise of religious studies of State Committee on works of Religious Associations of Azerbaijan Republic, Mr. Nahid Mammadov made a speech about “ Islamic Solidarity and modern youth”, deputy dean of the faculty of history and geography of Sumgait State University, Mr. Osman Hajiyev widely spoke about the subject “Philosophical aspects of Islamic Solidarity”. Emphasizing the importance of the ideas of multiculturalism and Islamic solidarity, they called world community, statesmen, and chaplain for joint cooperation against the extremism, radicalism, terrorism, separatism, xenophobia, islamophobia, as well as for active participation on preventing such cases. The spokesmen reported about the moral aspects of Islamic solidarity.
Later, a video on Islamic Solidarity Games was presented to the participants of an event.
