On May 25, the politician Oleg Kuznetsov the member of the group of lecturers of Knowledge Foundation under the President of Azerbaijan Republic, famous historian of Russia presented a petition addressed to the members of Russian State Duma for recognition of Khojaly tragedy as a crime of genocide at Sumgayit State University.
Teaching and student staff, vice-rector on Humanitarian Issues Ramiz Huseynov, the personnel of Knowledge Foundation Elvin Hatamov and Islam Islamzade participated in presentation ceremony held with the support of Knowledge Foundation.
Vice-rector on Humanitarian Issues, associate professor Ramiz Huseynov emphasized that, ethnic cleaning and genocide policy is one of the bloodiest pages of Azerbaijani history which was executed by Armenian nationalists expediently towards our nation last 2 centuries. He notified that, the main purpose of this nationalist-chauvinist policy was establishment of “Great Armenia” in ancient Azerbaijani territories by banishing Azerbaijanis from their historical lands. Declaration of Khojaly realities to world community is the duty of every Azerbaijani. Substantial results gained about recognition of Khojaly genocide suggest that executors of this genocide will be judged sooner or later, and will have to answer for their terrible crimes. The world now accepts that, Khojaly genocide is a crime not only against Azerbaijani people, but also all humanity. He thanked to Russian famous historian and politician Oleg Kuznetsov for announcing Azerbaijani realities to world community, showing crimes against Azerbaijanis profoundly.
Elvin Hatamov the personnel of Foundation spoke about relations between Russia and Azerbaijan and emphasized that, these countries have always been living in friendly and neighborhood atmosphere historically. He notified that, by joining Azerbaijan’s struggle for justice the Russian scientist shows an example of friendship of two nations.
Oleg Kuznetsov talked about his research on reasons of Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the essence of Armenian terrorism and the crimes committed against Azerbaijani civilians.
