On September 27-29, in Stavropol, Russian Federation VIII Russian-Azerbaijani Interregional Forum of "Investment, innovation, tourism" was held. Shahin Mustafayev, Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Republic,Polad Bulbuloghlu, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Russian Federation, Maksim Oreshkin, Minister of Economic Development of Russia, Vladimir Vladimirov, the governor of Stavropol region and representatives of the Azerbaijani-Russian state bodies and business circles participated in the forum.
Maksim Oreshkin who introduced the beginning of the session read a congratulatory letter from President Vladimir Putin. The President of Russia had noted that the forum plays very important role in development of strategic cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan. Here is the quote from the letter: “I am sure that approved decisions and recommendations which made in open and constructive discussions will find the place in practice”.
In the event, Shahin Mustafayev read the letter from Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan: “It is clear that interregional forums become a platform for mutual interest questions to be discussed”.
It should be noted that the forum gathered more than 400 people in one place from various regions and the biggest companies of Russia and Azerbaijan. Roundtable was held on cooperation in industrial and humanitarian spheres, development of tourism, innovations in medical field and other topics.
Samir Orujov, representative from Sumgayit State University participated in the VIII Russia-Azerbaijan interregional forum and made a speech on “Strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the humanitarian sphere” at the roundtable. Samir Orujov greeted participants on behalf of Professor Elkhan Huseynov, rector of SSU, co-chair of Russian-Azerbaijan Universities Association and noted that Russian-Azerbaijan Universities Association is a unique organization in post-Soviet area. During its two years’ activity the organization has implemented several events relating the realization of collaborative ideas in the field of education and science, maintaining and developing a single educational space, mastering of the world experience in carrying out reforms in higher education in the concrete conditions of the independent states.
At the end of the session the documentswere signed concerning cooperation in different fields between Azerbaijan and Russia.
